Laws of exponents - power law

A quantity with an exponent has three components--the base, the
exponent, and the coefficient.
**note x^9 is x raised to power 9**
In the quantity 3x^5, the coefficient is 3, the base is x, and the exponent is 5.

Power law :(a ^m) ^n = a ^ m n (the new exponent is product of two exponents)
Example: simplify (5^ 7)^6
5^ (7 * 6)=5^42

practice: simplify
( 2^ 5 )^ 8
( 3^ 6 ) ^5
( 7^ 8 )^ 6

Answers:
2^40
3^30
7^48

Example: simplify (x^ 3)^4
x^ (3* 4)
x^12

practice: simplify
( p^ 5 )^ 3
( y^ 7 ) ^4
( a^ 9 )^ 5

Answers:
p^15
y^28
a^45
